Toma-L

Thomas Labarthe, alias Toma-L, was born in 1975. He lives in Nantes and works in Marseille. In 2001, he discovered Jean Dubuffet at the Centre Pompidou in a retrospective that had a “real electroshock” effect on him. Three months later, he painted Mala Bestia, his first painting, after which followed exhibitions in Paris, Carhaix, Nantes and Tours, and even New York. To paint freely, without fixed ideas in mind, with the only constraint of having to stop, such is the motto of the artist who makes his mark in the high place dedicated to Outsider Art.
