Bringing together the work of seven artists (from Slovenia, Australia, Spain and the United States), this group exhibition challenges the representation of the idealized human body. All ideas of beauty, credibility and proportion are erased in favour of a non-realistic stylization of the latter.

In response to the perpetual quest for perfection that is all around us, Corps primaires frees itself from the canons of aesthetic linking beauty and harmony. Subversive, the work of these artists calls upon the true, the inner, the sometimes dirty. Whether painting or drawing, the emphasis is placed on the gestural language of the medium in order to reveal, behind the image of these fragmented bodies, the tangible trace of an emotion.
