Adam Handler
New York-based painter Adam Handler spent his childhood in his grandparents’ framing factory, an environment that fuelled his interest in the arts. Over time, this interest grew and became the subject of his studies, leading him to move to Italy to pursue life drawing and later to graduate from Purchase College with a degree in art history.
Adam Handler’s work is rooted in an autobiographical process that stems from his love for the women in his life: his wife, his mother and his grandmother. The artist’s colourful, passionate and childlike works have been exhibited internationally, from the United States to the Middle East. They usually feature characters such as bats, bees, ghosts and girls, which he creates with acrylic paint, oil stick, pencils and markers.
